Thanks Andrew for the update. This unfortunately is a deal breaker for me. Other than that small item, Shopify looks amazing.

Hi,
first of all, I´d like to say thank you to Andrew and so many people who contribute with their experience in these shopping cart reviews. I´ve been reading about 3dCart, BigCommerce, Pinnacle Cart, Volusion and AShop, all of them look good, all have good and not-so-good things but overall seem good products, one of them will be my shopping cart.
Something that surprises me is I had not find any comment about "multilanguage support" until i read previous comment by Jeff and would like to have your opinion about this: I´m going to sell online from Spain, initially the store will be in spanish but I also want english. Yesterday I asked 3dCart support they told me they don´t support multilingual, Volusion support told me I could do that but had to do it myself (?).
Main question: best shopping cart for bussiness located in spain?

Yes you have to use the default shopify checkout you can make some modifications to it with CSS though. I was initially very skeptical of it but to be honest I have never heard of a single case of lost sales because the user was forced to use the Shopify checkout system.

You can integrate a forum easily. I personally use vBulletin and find it is a great fit and can be easily styled to match your store. You have to install it on a subdomain but it is a simple task just like integrating a blog

Andrew -

Honestly, thanks a ton for the write-up and the feedback you are giving to people's comments on this post. VERY helpful and appreciated. I had two questions I was hoping you would be able to answer:

1. Can you integrate a forum into a Shopify site? I know some forums you can embed into a site, but wasn't sure if you have that type of access to a Shopify site.

2. Do you have to use the default Shopify checkout page (checkout.shopify.com)?

Thanks!

The duplicate content from multistore arises from store owners only entering one product description and using ver similar templates.

As I said it is easy to alleviate - use very different templates with different menu's and navigation labels and add a unique product description for each store using the tags provided

Hi Andrew,

About the multi store option, is Americommerce the only one with this option?
Also, we are selling the same product over 2 online stores,
http://www.filtrationmontreal.com/
http://www.furnacefilterscanada.com/
If I move the 2 domains to Americommerce, I don't see how I will have a duplicate content SEO issue. What do you thing?

Merci,

Jean

There are so many carts that I considered Ray.

Abantecart was discounted because it is a free "Expandable shopping cart application with fast growing number of extensions." but the Extensions directory on the website is empty - not surprising really the cart was only released on the 11/11/11 - I will add it to a review on new shopping carts but it doesn't come close to qualifying for a top 5 of 2012 list - maybe 2013 if there is significant uptake

CS-Cart, of which I am a massive fan, is isn't on the list because it is out of reach for most non-technical people. The site is targeted at developers and consultants and is a little tricky for lay people to negotiate which means it is a higher support burdon. The pricing structure is also problematic mixing a free version in with paid versions means I spend too much time explaining why someone should pay for the software rather than if the software is a good fit in the first place. It's great that there is the community version but once a vendor (similar to Magento) releases a free version the selection process becomes more about money than suitability.

There are so many carts that I considered Ray.

Abantecart was discounted because it is a free “Expandable shopping cart application with fast growing number of extensions.” but the Extensions directory on the website is empty – not surprising really the cart was only released on the 11/11/11 – I will add it to a review on new shopping carts but it doesn’t come close to qualifying for a top 5 of 2012 list – maybe 2013 if there is significant uptake

CS-Cart, of which I am a massive fan, is isn’t on the list because it is out of reach for most non-technical people. It’s great that there is the community version but once a vendor (similar to Magento) releases a free version the selection process becomes more about money than suitability.

Hi Andrew,

Can I do a Recommandation? When doing a review, post the date.
About the this Corecommerce review, is it 2 years ago?
I can't decide between Corecommerce and Americommerce, do you have any comparison?
Thank you,
